We get asked a lot here at Just Tiles N Bathrooms what tiles work in a small bathroom and how we advise you tile in a small space.
So, we’ve decided to compile a handy little list of tips and tricks that may benefit you when planning your renovation or new build bathrooms.
1. Keep a Neutral Palette
Keeping a neutral palette can be beneficial in a small space. We love these Casablanca 60×60 Gloss Carrara Tiles.
They are elegant, have a light gloss and the light colour will make any space appear bigger than it is. Keep the majority of your space neutral and add in some bright accessories to add a little personality to your bathroom.
2. Make a Statement with a Feature Wall
If all-neutral-everything isn’t for you, then fear not, as you can add colour by way of a feature wall. An accent wall will draw your eye to one part of the bathroom – ideally the back wall to give your bathroom added depth. We love our Equipe Artisan Colonial Blue 13.2×13.2 Polished Tiles.
They come in a stunning shade of blue and have that high gloss finish for an upmarket feel in your home.
3. Go Half Tiles/ Half Paint to create the Illusion of Space
If your bathroom has a low ceiling, then tiling the lower half of the wall and painting the upper half will create the impression of a taller room. This will also make it easier to hang artwork, shelves and mirrors. Metro tiles can be a great way to achieve this. Why not check out our Metro Blanco Polished Bevel 10×20 Tiles.
4. Choose Large Format Tiles for an Uncluttered Design
It’s a common misconception that small bathrooms can only be decorated with small tiles. Large format tiles have the opposite effect, with fewer grout lines helping to make the room feel more streamlined and spacious. White walls and stone coloured tiles can look very chic together – why not check out our STN Rockstone Noce Matte 100×100.
