Laminate flooring is a multi-layer synthetic flooring product fused together, to mimic wood or stone with a photographic layer under a clear protective layer. The bottom layer is usually composed of high density fibre board.
Laminate flooring has grown in popularity, because it is easier to install and maintain and is also cheaper to buy and install than solid or engineered floors.
