All you need to know about Bathroom Wall Panels
Waterproof wall panels are relatively new to the bathroom design and technology world, however they are quickly becoming a popular choice. Customers are attracted to their quick and easy installation, the lack of grouting required and the wide range of designs available. Here at Just Tiles N Bathrooms we are stockists of Multipanel, one of the leading brands in bathroom wall panels.
What are Multipanel Bathroom Wall Panels?
Multipanel Bathroom Wall Panels are a stylish and modern alternative to tiles. The three main collections that we stock- Classic, Heritage and Linda Barker- have a hardwood plywood core and are bonded with a beautiful laminate finish, meaning that they are both waterproof and durable. They come in large sheets and are installed using a unique Hydrolock tongue and groove system and a strong bond adhesive, meaning installation can be quicker than tiles.
Advantages
As mentioned above, one of the main advantages of using wall panels is how quick and easy installation is. As they come in large sheets which slot together, there is no need for grout. Wall panels are also very easy to clean and maintain, due to the absence of grout (which is where dirt and grime tend to build up).
Disadvantages
One disadvantage of wall panels is that you have less flexibility with designs. While there are many styles of Multipanel available, tiles still allow you to be more creative as you can experiment with mix and matching, adding borders and laying them in different ways to create a look that is completely unique to you. You also need to be careful when cleaning Multipanel, as harsh or abrasive products can damage the panels.
Which collection is for me?
We stock six Multipanel collections: Classic, Heritage, Economy, Linda Barker, Reflect and Tile. The Classic collection is all about timeless designs and neutral colours, whereas the Heritage collection focuses on calming, pastel colours and textures. If you are looking for a simple and practical design, have a look at the Economy collection which is made up of PVC panels. Multipanel has also recently teamed up with respected interior designer Linda Barker to create a collection inspired by natural elements such as wood, marble and stone. Reflect panels are a hard-wearing alternative to back painted glass. Finally, if you want the look of tiles without the maintenance, then have a look at the Tile collection which is also PVC.
Final Take!
As with anything, there are pros and cons associated with using bathroom wall panels as opposed to tiling the area. It all really comes down to personal taste and the style of your home. Some of our customers have opted to use multipanel in the shower enclosure and tiles everywhere else, to get the best of both worlds. If you are still undecided, have a look at our huge range of wall panels here, to see if anything catch your attention. Â
